Re: Why I Do Not Support Impeaching Obama

Excellent piece, CW. I myself am torn. I see your points regarding conviction and the leftist media and what happened with Clinton and agree that those are all things that should be considered before moving forward.

But I also see an imperial President that needs some serious reigning in.

Particularly with the threat of possible unilateral amnesty coming by executive order.

What is to be done about that? What can Congress do if Obama does that? Cut off funding? Another threatened shut down? Another actual shut down?

Just as much as the leftist media will pull for Obama if the GOP tries impeachment, if the GOP tries to do anything at all to reign Obama in, it will have the same result – the GOP will be painted as bad and Obama and the Democrats as good.

As usual, we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. That has been going on for decades and the GOP still hasn’t figured out how to not get themselves backed into a corner, nor have they figured out how to get out of it when they do get backed in.

Apparently Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) have an idea.    I’m not sure if that will do the trick.  Another law that Obama will just ignore?

So the question remains – what can the GOP do with the limited power they do hold at this point and time?

Any other suggestions?
